About the salicylic acid peel add-on: Salicylic acid reduces oil production and calms inflammation. It also improves post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation and post-inflammatory erythema, which are the dark marks and red marks that acne leaves behind after the breakout itself is gone.
Best for: Teens with active breakouts, blackheads, oily skin, or leftover marks from past acne.

What to Expect at Your Appointment
Before you come in. Skip retinoids and exfoliating acids for two to three days beforehand. Come with a clean face if you can. Bring your current skincare products or a photo of them so we can review what you are actually using.
During your facial. Every appointment starts with a skin analysis. Your esthetician explains what she is seeing and what she plans to do. Extractions can feel like brie pressure or pinching. Tell her if anything is uncomfortable
After. Most people leave a little pink, and it settles within a few hours. Skip makeup for the rest of the day if you can. Wear sunscreen, especially after any peel. Your esthetician will send you home with specific aftercare for the treatment you received.
How often. Every four to six weeks keeps most skin on track. Acne-prone skin sometimes benefits from every three to four weeks at the start.
